A beacon of hope on the hill; A small school making a big difference

PTA

FoDS (Friends of Dundry School) work with the school to raise funds for projects, resources and school trips.

Friends of Dundry (FODs) PTA is a registered charity run by a committee of parents and staff. Our role is to encourage closer links between home and school and to bring parents together socially in support of the school, working towards a common goal which is to enhance our children’s education experience and the school’s facilities. Over the years, the PTA has fundraised thousands of pounds, which has which has been spent on equipment and resources not usually covered by the schools budget.

The committee meets once a term and all parents are invited to attend. We look for volunteers who can offer as much or as little time as you have so pleased get involved.

How we spend the money we raise

It is at our PTA Committee meetings that the decisions on how to spend the money are agreed.

The PTA funds are spent on the ‘extras’ that are not provided by the school’s budget. We always endeavour to spend our funds in ways that will benefit all our children across all areas of the school and curriculum.

Funds can be spent on large items such as the Book Nook, or many things in-between such as trips and treats, coach travel and sports equipment.

You can have your say and get involved

We encourage all parents to have a say and get involved. Please!

Perhaps you have a special skill, which could be useful at school. Perhaps you like gardening for example, or are handy at DIY.

Perhaps you have some ideas for fundraising or would just like to help?

Parent Helpers

We always need parent helpers. If you think you might like to accompany a school trip or come in to help read with the children for example, please do let the office know so that the appropriate paperwork can be filed. This is a relatively straightforward exercise required by law.
